DETAIL INFORMATION

+ Coast To Coast Night Trail (CTC) Ultra 2022 will take place on 11-12 June 2022:

+ The 70K and 50K will start on Saturday, 11 June 2022 in the night.

+ Outside support by family and friends is not allowed.

Qualification

+ AGE: Any male or female who is in good health and can complete the race without getting lost.

+ EXPERIENCE: Participants will be asked during registration to provide details of qualifying event name and time result record.

 

70K: Participants are recommend to have completed ultra trail race with minimum distance of 50K.

50K: Participants are recommend to have completed trail race with minimum distance of 25K.

25K: Participants are recommend to have completed a trail race with minimum distance of 10K.

13K: Participants are recommend to have completed a road race with minimum distance of 10K.

5K  : Participants are recommend to have completed a road race with minimum distance of 5K.

But runners are strongly advised to educate themselves with the nature and challenges of trail run.

TERM AND CONDITION

  1. You understand the unique nature and requirements of competing in an ultra-long distance trail running race. You will be running in the dark of early morning and all day through mountainous terrain and have undertaken the necessary training to compete in such a race.
  2. You will be responsible for yourself and have the ability to deal with any problems that may be encountered during the race.
  3. You are able to deal with, on your own without assistance, deteriorating weather conditions (low temperatures, strong winds, and rain) and other troubles expected when traveling across mountainous terrain.
  4. You are able to deal with extreme fatigue, internal organ and digestive problems, muscle pain, mild physical injuries and psychological problems on your own.
  5. You fully understand that you are responsible for overcoming the above conditions 1 to 4 on your own and that it is not the responsibility of the race organization.
  6. You are fully aware that when participating in an outdoor activity such as this race, your safety depends on your own skills and abilities.
  7. Video/television footage, photos, articles, race results, etc. may be used and/or shown in newspapers, television, magazines, internet, pamphlets, etc.
  8. You understand and agree that these rights belong to the race organization and may be used for these purposes.

REFUND POLICY

  1. Any cancellations is not allowed when your registration status is approved and paid. This also means that we are prohibited to use other runner’s BIB for insurance and qualifications reasons. You will be disqualified when you are running with other runner’s BIB number and both two runners are banned for one next event.
  2. When your registration status is paid and your BIB number issued then you are prohibited to downgrade or upgrade the race category.

EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE AND CONSIDERATION

  1. If during the race, you encounter another runner or staff member who is injured or sick and unable to move on their own, please give priority to assisting that person by telling race staff for assistance.
  2. The race is located on south coast of Bantul through Gunung Kidul and other public/private property places. Please be mindful and share the trail with others at all times. There will be “no passing sections” signs along the race course where you will be prohibited from passing other runners.
  3. Do not damage any property located along the race course.

AID STATION AND OUTSIDE SUPPORT

  1. Food and drinks will be provided as well Aid Stations. Details will be confirmed nearer to race day.
  2. The food and drinks at the aid stations are only for the racers.
  3. Non-registered racers may not run alongside racers (No pacers allowed).
  4. Outside support by family and friends is not allowed.
  5. You are allowed to buy food/drinks from the food stall/warung a long the race route.

MEDICAL ASSISTANCE DURING THE RACE

  1. In order to ensure race safety, race organizer will prepare and arrange for rescue and medical assistance during the race. However, each participant must recognize and understand that there are risks that may result in injuries and/or accidents associated with trail running. You are responsible for yourself and will be participating in this race at your own risk.
  2. Emergency and first aid tents staffed by a doctor and/or nurse will be located at pointed aid stations. All aid stations will have radio communication to race headquarters.
  3. Emergency rescues/procedures will be available to racers as well all those involved in the race (e.g. staff, supporters).
  4. Please note that, depending on the area, it may take a long period of time for help to reach you.
  5. If you receive emergency medical assistance from a rescue crew and/or doctor, please make sure that you get examined by a medical expert at a hospital after the race. Please contact the race organizer centre to let them know of your condition after the medical examination.
  6. Doctors and rescue staff have the authority to stop a runner from continuing the race.
  7. If you drop out of the race, you can continuing walk by take a shorter path back to finish line on your own.
  8. Depending on your condition, an emergency evacuation may be required. This evacuation will be at the expense of the person being rescued. For all racers must be obtain adequate travel insurance coverage for the duration of your stay.

RACE COURSE MARKER

  1. The race course will be marked using marking tapes (red and white colors) and signs. Race staff will also be positioned along the course. Dangerous areas will be marked by marking tapes (yellow and black colors) and patrolled by staff in order to reduce risk.
  2. (Note: Permission has been obtained from the appropriate land owners and property managers to put up temporary signs and marking tapes)
  3. The marking tapes will always be placed on the proper place such as tree or another similar places, a bamboo sticks along the sand dunes sand, at branches, grasses or bushes that on your eye level sight (about 50 centimetres above the ground). And it will always be on your left side along the race route. But it will be possible that the marking will be placed on your right side if there’s no possibility to put it on the left side.
  4. There will be extra sign that will show which way for each category (so please read the signs and the course map carefully). Further details will be given.
  5. For the route that will be passed at night time we will add extra reflector at the marking tapes.
  6. Racers will be stopped at road intersections. Please follow the directions given by the race staff at these intersections.
  7. The above signs and markers will be set up just before the race and will be immediately removed after the race.
  8. There will be a “no-passing” section as well as other sections with specific rules/conditions.

DROPPING OUT OF THE RACE

If you decide to drop out of the race, you must notify race staff. Please remove your race card/bib and and report to a race staff member so that race Organizer Center can be notified. Once you’ve dropped out of the race, you will not be able to re-start. Remember to keep your race card with you as you will need it to retrieve your bags from the bag storage area.

GEAR AND EQUIPMENT

A. MANDATORY

+ BIB number has to be always visible during the race and placed in front of runner’s body part (you are not allowed to fold, modified or placed your BIB number on your running shorts). If you’re using windproff jackets make sure that the BIB number still visible.

+ Suitable apparels and equipment for extreme cold weather and rain (long sleeves, leggings, jacket, mitten, gloves, buff, light raincoat), assess your own needs for this.

+ Mobile phone (Advised to get a prepaid local number with data plan, available at shops around race central. If using number that is different from your registration, please inform organizer)

+ Hydration Bag, Hydrobag or Hydration Vest, minimum capacity 1.5 Litre, must be filled-up before START, and to be refilled at water station. Do not hand-carry your water bottle (except when you drink). You need your hands for more important situation during the race. Water bottles must be placed on your bag when not drinking.

+ Personal food (for example: energy gels, bars, chomps, powders, dates, bread, etc)

 

For 50K and 70K:

+ Headlamps with functional battery + spare battery.

+ Spare lights, in forms of headlamps or torchlight.

+ Flashing reflector light, put this light on your backpack during the race so that cars will be able to see you at night.

 

For 25K:

+ Headlamps is preferable but any form of light should be fine, such as torchlight from your mobile phone.

+ Survival/Emergency Blanket of 1.40m x 2m minimum

+ Whistle

+ Self adhesive elasticated bandage which can serve as a bandage or strapping (minimum 100 cm x 6 cm)

+ Basic Aid-Kit, and personal medicines (e.g. for allergies)

+ Printed map for Ultra categories.

+ It will be best for you just to carry small amount of money in small note.

B. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

+ Gaiter will be very useful due to sandy and muddy conditions in some parts.

+ Life, accident or travel insurance.

Drop Bags

There will be drop bag for :

70K category : at the middle of the race

50K category : at the middle of the race

 

+ There will be no drop bag station for non ultra categories.

+ There will be deposit bag station for all categories in race central.

PROHIBITED ACTIONS

A racer may be disqualified or penalized at any time during the race for the following reasons:

  1. Taking shortcuts and/or running off the trails.
  2. Not carrying the mandatory equipment.
  3. Throwing garbage onto the course.
  4. Receiving outside support.
  5. Running with people who are not officially registered in the race as racers.
  6. Cheating (e.g. using other means of transportation, using substitute runners, and other unlawful actions).
  7. Not abiding by the instructions given by official race staff including doctors, nurses, and emergency staff.
  8. Continuing to run after the cut off times.
  9. Doping and the use of prohibited drugS.

RACER RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. You understand the unique nature and requirements of competing in an ultra-long distance trail running race. You will be running all day and night through mountainous and hilly terrain and have undertaken the necessary training to compete in such a race.
  2. You will be responsible for yourself and have the ability to deal with any problems that may be encountered during the race.
  3. You are able to deal with, on your own without assistance, deteriorating weather conditions (low temperatures, strong winds and rain ) and other troubles expected when traveling across mountainous terrain.
  4. You are able to deal with extreme fatigue, internal organ and digestive problems, muscle pain, mild physical injuries and psychological problems on your own.
  5. You are fully aware that when participating in an outdoor activity such as this race, your safety depends on your own skills and abilities.

RACE CANCELLATION

The race organization reserves the right to cancel or cut-short the race for the following reasons:

    1. Weather warnings sent by the meteorological agency
    2. The inability to ensure runner safety due to risks such as landslides and rockfalls along the course.
    3. Natural disasters (or declared warnings issued by the “BMKG-Badan Meteorologi Klimatologi Geofisika) In such a case, the race course cannot be changed to continue the race, nor will the race be postponed to a later date.
    4. The decision as to whether or not the race will be cancelled will be made on the day before the race or on the day of the race. This will be communicated via the official race website.
    5. In the event of an earthquake, hurricane/typhoon, flood, incidents, accidents and/or epidemics, the race organization reserves the right to make judgments and decisions regarding the shortening/cancelling of the race, whether or not there will be refunds, the amount, and the method of communication.
    6. Miscellaneous
    7. The race organizer is entitled to revoke the winner’s title or finishers if cheating or violations is found later on.
    8. The race organizer’s decision cannot be contested, yet is binding and final.
    9. The race organizer is entitled to add or change the rules and regulations if deemed necessary. All the changing will be notified through website and instagram
